Set up TiviMate Player on Android TV and Google TV
The cleanest route of them all: the player comes from the Play Store, nothing has to be side-loaded, and the whole thing takes about five minutes.
About 5 minutes · 4 stepsSteps verified on
Before you start
- The credentials email we send once your order is confirmed — either an M3U link, or a server address with a username and password.
- The device you want to watch on, connected to the internet.
- Around 15 Mbps for Full HD, 25 Mbps for 4K, measured on that device.
Which app to use
TiviMateby Armobsoft FZE · Google Play
One identifiable listing, a named publisher, a recent update, and a programme guide designed for a d-pad. Nothing else on Android TV comes close on all four.
Past 5 million downloads, 4.2 stars across about 8,360 ratings, last updated 22 June 2026. Checked 4 October 2026.
Published by Armobsoft FZE, a company unconnected to us. Its free tier plays streams and shows the guide; multiple playlists and recording sit behind its own paid tier, which is sold by its developer, not by us.
We publish none of these applications and receive nothing from their developers. Any player that takes an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login will work with your subscription — this is simply the one we see working best here.
The steps, in order
- 1
Open the Play Store
From the home screen, open the Play Store and search for an IPTV player. If you are not sure which, support names the one we see working best on your box.
- 2
Install and open it
Install the app and open it. The first screen asks how you want to add your service.
- 3
Enter your credentials
Choose the Xtream Codes login if the app offers it: type the server address, then the username and the password exactly as they appear in your email. If the app only takes a playlist, paste the M3U link instead.
- 4
Let the guide load
The channel list appears first, the programme guide downloads behind it. On a large playlist the first run can take a minute — leave it be rather than restarting the app.
The mistake that stops most people
A server address missing its port. It must end with a colon and a number. Without it the app loads an empty list and reports nothing at all.
Questions about Android TV
- Which boxes does this cover?
- Android TV and Google TV devices: Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, most Android TV boxes, and televisions with Android TV built in.
- The Play Store does not offer the app on my box.
- That usually means the device is not certified for Google Play rather than the app being unavailable. Write to support and we will give you another route for that box.
- Can I use a remote for everything?
- Yes. Typing a server address on a d-pad is tedious but it is a one-off. Some apps let you pair a phone to type it instead.
