Set up TiviMate Player on LG Smart TV

LG runs webOS. The flow is the same shape as Samsung’s: the app comes from LG’s store, and your playlist is registered against the television.

Before you start

The credentials email we send once your order is confirmed — either an M3U link, or a server address with a username and password.
The device you want to watch on, connected to the internet.
Around 15 Mbps for Full HD, 25 Mbps for 4K, measured on that device.

The same app as on Samsung, and the same reason: it still ships updates, which is rare among TV-store IPTV apps.

The steps, in order

Install the app

Open the LG Content Store from the television’s home bar, search for an IPTV player, and install it.

Note the MAC address

The app shows a MAC address and a web address on first launch. Copy the MAC address down exactly as shown.

Register your playlist

From a phone or computer, open that web address, enter the MAC address, and paste the M3U link from your credentials email.

Reload the app

Close and reopen the app on the television. The channel list loads first, the programme guide follows.

The mistake that stops most people

Registering the playlist against the wrong MAC address — a phone’s or a router’s rather than the television’s. It has to be the one the app itself displayed.
